South Kensington vs Knightsbridge

Time to pick the brains of the London travel experts!

I have selected two apartments.....oops, flats.....in two different areas of London. One is in Knightsbridge around the corner from Harrods and several restaurants, pubs and shopping. The other is in South Kensington/Earls Court in a quiet residential area about a 5 minute walk from Earls Court Tube stop.

I'd like to find out the pros/cons of each area if I could before making my decision. This will be just for my wife and I, enjoying our 2nd Honeymoon........32 years after the first! We enjoy sightseeing, museums, drinking/dining, all things Beatles and just walking around.

Thanks in advance!

Either location would be great. We usually stay out at Bayswater--close to the north side of Kensington Palace. They all have great pubs and restaurants.

I HAVE STAYED IN BOTH AREAS. I JUST RETURNED FROM STAYING RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER FROM HARRODS ON BEAUCHAMP PLACE, IT IS A SUPER LOCATION. JUST A COUPLE OF BLOCKS FROM VICTORIA AND ALBERT MUSEUM, WHICH WAS AMAZING AND THE NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM, WHICH IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SPOTS. YOU CAN ALSO WALK TO HYDE PARK, SLOAN SQUARE AREA, WHICH IS A GREAT AREA WITH GREAT RESTAURANTS AND SHOPS. A COUPLE OF GOOD RESTAURANTS IN THAT AREA ARE POLPO, BUMPKINS, AND THE IVY. SAN LORENZO'S, AN ITALIAN RESTAURANT ON BEAUCHAMP PLACE WAS WONDERFUL.

Personally i'd choose Knightsbridge, but either are very nice.
