My wife and I found a few things not mentioned in forums or Rick's book we'd like to add as worthwhile. In Bath ( beginning this summer) a new "Balcony Tour" of the beautiful Assembly Rooms was added, not previously available. The 1 hour tour offered a unique view from the musicians balconies of all the rooms and the tour was both entertaining and highly informative..
In the Cotswolds, we went to Cirencester yesterday and the entire main square by the church is under major reconstruction, leaving parking extra difficult. That said, we felt Rick's book omitted a few things we really enjoyed. We found a terrific French restaurant "Cote Brasserie" for a wonderful lunch....and reasonably priced we felt. The remnants of the Roman wall behind the Church on the square and the glass blower at New Brewery Arts were fascinating. Finally, I found a great men's and women's clothing store ( fashionable-casual clothing) called "White Suff".

Great information! Thanks for sharing! I don't know if your trip included London. If you liked the remnants of the Roman wall behind the Church on the square in Cirencester, you should see some that are in London. Several large sections of the Roman wall near the Tower of London and near the Museum of London (walk around to the right of the front entrance to the little park). If you have not seen it on a prior trip, a good stop for you on your next trip to London would be the Museum of London. They have interesting exhibits on Roman London, part of a Roman townhouse that was found in London, and many more exhibits about early Britain and London. On some days, they give walks around the city to some of the Roman sites. www.museumoflondon.org.uk Located at 150 London Wall.
