Snacks/power bars while site seeing in London

My husband and I are visiting London for the first time. We are going to be doing A LOT of walking and don't want to keep stopping to eat. Does anyone have recommendations on what we can buy while in London that we can carry in my tote. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

You can go to any grocery stores (like M&S Simply Foods, Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury) and get sandwiches, fruits, salads and whatever else you like all packaged up for easy carrying. Also there are lots of Pret A Mangers and EATS and similar with lots of good choices too.

If you like a particular brand of power bar (I'm fond of Kashi), you can bring some with you, to "get started." I wouldn't bring more than one box, as you can then replenish with stuff you buy in supermarkets there.

We often use Pret A Manger for lunch and sometimes for breakfast if we're out and about early. It's a fast food sandwich shop where everything is pre-prepared and in refrigerated cases lining the walls. You can be in and out in minutes, carrying the food with you, or you can sit on barstools and eat. The quality is great, there is a huge variety, the prices are reasonable, and they are everywhere in London.

Estella,

Im partial to the "go natural" bars. I found some at i think starbucks and also found some in the M&S grocery stores. I don't see them a lot in the USA either.

Im sure there are others, but i like the fact that not much else other than "natural" stuff in them.

Happy trails.

If I remember correctly mulebar products are sold in Marks and Spencers. London is a very walkable city. I'm 62 and it's always how I explore it while I'm visiting. Yes, I use the Tube but I firmly believe viewing a city on foot provides the best perspective. For example walked from Butler's Wharf to the Tower of London, then off to Leadenhall Market then through the City of London to St Paul's and then across the Blackfrair's bridge and along the Thames to the London Eye. Started early. As I make lunch my main meal of the day I always locate a pub or cafe around 2pm and enjoy a leisurely respite. Then back out onto the streets to explore some more. Tube back top where ever I'm staying. Kudos to you for making the choice to walk.
