Small organic groceries in these towns?

When we were in Canterbury last year we found a small and wonderful grocery to buy some organic fruits and vegetables and other items as well and we did some meals at our rented apartment.
We are wondering if anyones knows of any stores like this in Cambridge, Stamford, Lincoln, Beverley, York, Keswick and or Buxton.
Thanks!

Booths is great and a Yorkshire staple. I absolutely LOVED shopping there. Lots of organic stuff but also lots of great gourmet food and wine. Plus they have a nice cafe. There is a Booths very near Fountains Abbey if you are around there.

Here is a list of all their locations. There are two in Keswick, also one in Settle and in West Yorkshire. https://orders.booths.co.uk/store-locations

Beverley has the Wednesday Market and Saturday Markets if you are here on either of those days. There’s lots of local produce sold, especially during the Saturday Market.
Will you have a car? Just outside of Beverley on the road into Hull. There’s a garden centre (if you don’t know anything about English garden centres, look them up. My American step-grandmother tells me they don’t exist there and she loved to visit them when she came here) called Colletta and Tyson and they have a great farmers shop, along with the cafe etc. again you could look it up on the internet.
I know of a few independent bakers and butchers in both Beverley and Lincoln but I’m not sure about getting fruit and veg.
We don’t have Booth’s this far East.

Booths a Yorkshire staple Mardee? Wash your mouth out. Booths is and always has been based in Lancashire - I cycled past its Head Office yesterday a few miles from my home. It has for a long time had a few branches in Yorkshire in Ilkley and Settle and more recently in Ripon. It's also fairly well represented in Cumbria but it's heart is in Lancashire.

I rather like the Windermere branch of Booths. I shop at Waitrose here in the Midlands and East, and sort of think of Booths as a nicer even than Waitrose with a fabulous atmosphere and customer service. One of the things I really look forward to when heading "Up North".

Sort of like my favourite supermarket in Germany - the Hieber in Bad Krozingen south of Freiburg im Breisgau... https://www.hieber.de/maerkte/hieber-bad-krozingen/

Cambridge is organic central. Pretty much anywhere will have organic, veggie, vegan and many will have insect protein and other modern foods.

Some shops are bigger, some smaller, but the adventure is doing the search.

You might have a wander along Mill Road. Maybe start at Parker's Piece (sort of a park) and walk down towards the railway bridge and over and continue along, and see what appeals. You will be spoiled for choice.

If I were looking in Stamford I would head to the Waitrose supermarket. There will also undoubtedly be fruit and veg merchants and some of their produce will be organic, but I have no recommendations. I haven't popped into Stamford since covid so I have no idea of what has survived.

Oops, sorry, Johnnew52!! I was going by what a woman in line next to me said. :-) I take it back!

It was meant as a joke Mardee, fuelled by the intense rivalry between Lancashire and Yorkshire. I might say that it would be typical of a Yorkshirewoman to claim that!

Thanks for all the ideas!
We will go to the Sat market in Stamford and Booths in Keswick. I only saw one location in Keswick. Mardee do you know where the second location is you mentioned?
Will check out Mill Rd etc in Cambridge too.
Any ideas for York for this kind of grocery store?

There’s only one Booths in Keswick. There are other stores in the area in Penrith, Windermere and Kendal.

Johnnew, ha ha!!!

mistimetotravel, the Ripon Booths is in Ripon, and it's right off the B6265 and very easy to get to. If you make a stop at Fountains Abbey (and if you haven't been there, you definitely should stop!), it's about 8 minutes from there. Very nice store! I stopped there before heading to my cottage in North Yorkshire and stocked up. They have some great meals also that you can just heat up, and they were very very tasty. I think I bought a Shepherd's Pie and some Italian dish and a few others that I can't remember. But everyoen was very good. It's a titch pricier than Tesco and Sainsbury, but the quality and selection is worth it.

Jacqui (Skye girl) was the one who first told me about them.

ETA: Sorry, just realized you were asking me about the 2 I mentioned in Keswick. I must have been drunk with laughter over Johnnew's joke about Yorkshire, because I am wrong! There is only one Keswisk location. :-)

I forgot to say we will not have a car so I am not sure we will make it to Ripon or Fountain’s Abbey but they sound lovely.
If we can get there by train or bus we may do it if we have time.
