Small charger

Oddly I can not find a small phone charger that has British prongs. Amazon has large ones but not small ones. I am talking about the charger blocks that are roughly 1"x1"x2" and have a USB port on one end and prongs that go into a wall on the other. Has anyone found a place to buy these in the US?

Are you sure you really want a "charger" that only works with the British-style plugs? Why? I'm trying to imagine why any foreign visitor would want that.

You already have a charger (charging block aka wall-wart) that you use at home, right? Is there a reason you don't want to simply use that plus a basic plug adapter? That's what most people do.

The simple plug adapters are cheap and work great with any charging block you already own. (Which could be why few places sell a dedicated charger with British prongs...I would imagine there's not much demand for that, except of course for those folks who live there...).

I'm in Europe often enough that I have purchased 2 x 2 round prong charging blocks from the Apple Store in Berlin. And I'll likely purchase a 3rd when I hit Milan, since my new iPad is USB-C.

Thank you, I guess that the one that 2 of you have linked to is the smallest that I can get. It is so odd. I carry a tiny tiny charger with US prongs around in my purse and you can find those everywhere! And finding one that I can use in France has been easy.

It should be relatively easy to find one once you are in the UK (London?). If you are staying at a hotel for a few days Amazon UK might be an option. Contact your hotel to see if they will accept delivery. If you order in advance it might be there when you check in.

For the UK, you just need to adjust your size expectation. Just the mechanics of having 3 larger blades plus there must be a fuse built into the device, means what you are seeing is the minimum size.

I'll just jump.in and say the Rick Steves adapter is not really UK compliant, lack of sleeve on N and L pins
Also no mention if it contains any fusing.

Other thing would you trust high end travel electronics to a $1 device

Many phone chargers sold in the UK have a retractable "insulated shutter opening device" (ISOD) which means they are smaller in size to a power adaptor as you can push this into the charger when not in use.

Increasingly, British hotels have mains outlets which include a USB socket. All you then need is a standard USB cable. I imagine some hotels have them so that they frequently have to help people who have forgotten to bring theirs from home.

You can also check your room's tv. Many have USB ports that can be used to charge a device.
