Skygarden Versus 22 Bishop’s Gate?

Hi Fellow Travellers! My family is going to skip the London Eye and are going to get a free view of the city instead. Any thoughts on the Skygarden versus 22 Bishop’s Gate? Thanks!

I don't recall anyone on here saying they've been to 22 Bishopsgate yet. It's fairly new. I was fairly underwhelmed by the Sky Garden to be honest. The views are... ok. If you're lucky with a really clear day it may be better than my experience. The ambiance didn't make me think it would be a good destination for a drink or a meal.

We were fortunate to have a beautiful sunny day and really enjoyed the Sky Garden. I agree that the eating environment isn’t to my tastes, and I was glad I didn’t make reservations ahead of time. But, the ability to walk around the concourse and see London and its surroundings was really fun for us. We spent about a half hour there seeing all the major sites.

We went to the Sky Garden in early October. It was a wonderful view! We didn't make reservations to eat, as we felt it was overpriced, so we went after lunch one day. We spent about one hour enjoying the view and taking photos. It was one of the things we all were very glad we made time for.
A cloudy day will be a cloudy view no matter where you are. I wouldn't hold that against Sky Garden.

Ditto what others have said about going to SkyGarden for the view and not the drinks. I think they say they limit you to one hour but when I was there in early June, no one checked and it wasn’t especially busy. Still better to book ahead for a time, but you may not need to book too far ahead. It’s also air conditioned if you’re going when it’s hot so makes a nice break during the day.
