Sky Garden/Views of London from up high..suggestions?

Hi all,
I’m visiting London in early November and am thinking of visiting Sky Garden. Everytime I visit a new country I like to get a great view from above. I’ve had so much help on this forum planning trips I was hoping for advice/tips. Is it worth it? Or do you all suggest a different site to see London from above?

Thanks in advance for your help!

We had a nice ride on the London Eye. Some people don't like it, say it's too touristy. But we were lucky and it was a slightly cloudy day, so the lines were short. We still had a great view of the city. We enjoyed it very much.

We visited the Eye the first time my children visited London and really enjoyed it. This past March we went to Sky Gardens and it too was enjoyable. It was a cool day but we enjoyed hot chocolate, desserts and the gardens. Both are different experiences and I would recommend both. We also had a good view from the top of the Tate Modern- also interesting but not a top choice for views.

I enjoyed the Sky Garden and its view early one clear fall morning, there were few people there, I didn't need a reservation, and they served a nice breakfast! Great view from the top of the Walkie Talkie that included the Shard, Cheese Grater, and Gherkin, as well as more prosaic places like the Tower, Thames, St. Paul's, etc.

Went up and down the London Eye on an earlier trip and liked it too, but the viewing time was limited, line was long, and no amenities (breakfast!) up there. It was a rainy day, though. My pictures of Westminster Palace look sort of like Monet's famous painting, lots of squiggly lines from the rain on the glass.

I haven't been to the Tate Modern, which isn't as high as the others, but I can imagine that the view from the roof is great.

Free views Parliament Hill in the Hampstead Heath.
Primerose Hill. Nice way to stretch your hammies.
One New Change.

For me and worth the price of Admisson is the Tower Bridge Experience.

The Monument. Fee.

The view Greenwich is grand as well.

Well, the price for the Sky Garden is right - since it's free. But you do need to be on it when the booking opens for the day you want. It can fill up fast. I was there last year in early December, early evening and it was pretty busy. But, once you are up there, you can stay as long as you like. I liked it well enough, and as I said - free.

Just looked at the website, and looks like they have some limited walk-in tickets, which I don't remember from my trip. But you'll want to check the details if you decide to go that route.
