Sky Garden's pod bar menu

We will be in London in May and I want to go to Sky Garden in the late afternoon for the view. I also would like to do a 6:30 pm London Walk (Ancient City at Night). Practically, the only way that can work for us is if we get something light to eat before hand.

The Sky Pod bar has a daytime and night time menu. You can make reservations starting at 6:30pm so I was thinking that meant night time menu starts then. My question is does anyone know whether you can have food from day time menu in the late afternoon like 4 or 5 pm. I don't see anything on the menus indicating time for ordering except can't order dinner after 10:30 pm (on night time menu).

I also would be open to a quick alternative in the area. The London Walk I am interested in starts outside the Bank underground station by Wellington statue which I don't think is too far.

Sorry I don't know, and they sure don't make asking questions easy do they?

I thought about calling for you but no phone number.

Reading between the lines - it isn't mentioned on the menus is it? - it looks to me that everything changes at 6pm, no kids, dress code, service charge all change and come in at 6.

I would therefore assume that the Day Time menu is in use until 6, so I would make a guess and say you will be ok at 4pm (traditional tea-time, very much considered daytime) to 5pm or so.

Good luck! Enjoy the views - I certainly did when I went, pre-covid.

Thanks Nigel. I appreciate your reply. It really does help to have your view. I am going to bet in being able to get food as your reasoning is similar to mine. If it doesn’t work, then there always is a plan b!

Though it's tricky to find, they do have an email address: restaurants@skygarden.london. The link is on the individual bar and restaurant information pages, under the "Book a Table" button. I had good luck with it last year when it turned out we had booked a table for lunch at the Darwin on the one day of the month where the gardens were actually closed for maintenance. We got lucky and they finished the maintenance early, so we got to tour the gardens and get the full view after our meal, though the view from our table was pretty good too!

Thank you Leslie and Claudia. I emailed the restaurant and will report back for others if I get a response. And the pub does look like a good plan B.
