Skipping a Flight Leg on Round Trip Flight

I booked a round-trip flight from Chicago to London. Both the departing and the return flight have a 2 hour layover in Dublin. Since I arrive in Dublin at 10am I figured I can just stay there and explore Dublin all day and then fly to London the following day for $15 on Ryan Air. Yes I’m trying to purposely skip the Dublin-London leg. I know that all remaining legs (Dublin to London) will be canceled. Does that include the return flight? My return flight is not until 5 days later and I wouldn’t be skipping any legs on the return flight.

Departing
- Chicago to Dublin is with BA opertated by AA
- Dublin to London is with Aer Lingus Trying to skip this flight

Returning
- London to Dublin with Aer Lingus
- Dublin to Chicago with BA operated by AA

I really want to stay in Dublin but not if my return flight will be canceled! Please share your expertise.

If it is one ticket you would be in trouble if you skip the Dublin to London. They would cancel the rest of your itinerary meaning the Dublin to Chicago.

You could just try to change it but more than likely there would be a change fee $200. The details are all in the fine print they gave you

Yes, they would cancel ALL further legs of the entire ticket, including all of your return.

Once you are a no-show, the rest of your ticket is toast.

I've also seen reports that skipping the final leg of a trip may get you blacklisted by the airline.

I appreciate everyone's response. This helps a lot and I'm glad I found out before I would have faced the shocking news trying to come back home. Safe travels everyone.
