You can buy a universal SIM card in USA before your trip. Swap SIM cards and you ar good to go almost anywhere in the world (you must first unlock your phone).

Hi, Joanne,

It’s great hearing from you again on the forum. You must be having an amazing time! I’m assuming you don’t want to top up the Orange Holiday SIM, so here are options for pay as you go SIM plans from the main networks in the UK:

Personally I’ve used EE in the UK several times, even in remote parts of Scotland and the coverage has been excellent. There are a number of EE stores all over England and Scotland. Link to EE:

Next is Three, which has a lot of forum fans because of very good data bundles (as well as calls and texts):

And then there is Vodafone, also with lots of fans. Particularly for the Netherlands based version. Here is the link for the UK version: Vodafone UK

Carphone Warehouse stores selll a number of plans from these networks, too. Plus an array of plans from companies that offer plans using one of the three networks.

Giffgaff also has a number of votes from the forum and they can speak best about their experience. Giff gaff uses the O2 network.

Hope this helps!

I agree about the giffgaff card.
Look up my posts from a couple of months ago about how to get it and activate it from home.
It's 10 pounds, and has more data and calling time than you will need.
