Short stay in Oban. Ferry to Isles or Highland Tour?

I will be having a one-night stay in Oban on my way to Inverness and will have the following day to do one of the following: I could take a ferry to Mull and tour that island before coming back and taking the 3+hr bus ride to Inverness or I could take a highland tour from Oban of Glencoe and Fort William before taking the bus to Inverness out of Fort William. I am at a loss about how best to spend my time. I love both ideas but want to get a feel for what others recommend.

We were just in Scotland last week. One of our best days was the 3 island tour of Mull, Iona and Staffa from Oban. Staffa is amazing! I will say that we did have glorious weather and that definately helped!

We also stayed 3 nights in Inverness, but did not do anything in Ft. William area. Let me know if you have more questions.

You might get more responses if you post this in Scotland. We were there last Fall and did the Mull/Iona tour through West Coast Tours and we used our other day to drive up to Glencoe. It's a hard choice if you just have one day, and quite frankly, I'd take time out of Inverness to spend more time in this area (if you can) -- they're far prettier. If you want to hike, then I'd probably recommend Glencoe and then you can get up to Fort William and maybe even Ben Nevis. If not, then maybe Mull/Iona, particularly if your bus will drive you through through the Glencoe Valley to get to Inverness anyway.
