hi,
I saw a bunch of comments on Sherlock Holmes walking tours dated 2016. Was wondering if anyone had any updated info. There are a few tours available and I want to get the best one. I am interested in the older Sherlock Holmes sites with Jeremy Brett in the BBC series. We are going to be in London in mid May 2025. thanks so much for any information.
No idea if this will suit your requirements, but London Walks has a SH tour:

I've not done this one, but have been very pleased with the dozen or so walks I have done with them.
Hate to burst your bubble but the great Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes 1984 series didn’t film in London.
Filmed in Manchester and Liverpool.
That’s often the case in film and television. For an example the 1939 film Gunga Din was all filmed in California with the fabulous Alabama Foothills near Lone Pine standing in for India.
London is my favorite city on the planet. Recently enjoyed a 6 week stay. Been visiting since 1972. Posted a daily review while there. It’s in the Trip Report category on the Forum; titled Back in London.
PM if you have questions I throughly enjoy sharing intel.
If you want the best one you will need to go on all of the ones you can find or else how will you know the best?
thanks for the feedback! I just found out about the Brett series being filmed outside of London and happen to be headed north to Liverpool and Manchester.
I have done the London Walks one, it focuses mostly on locations mentioned in the stories along with highlighting some of the places where various Sherlock Holmes films have been at, some as far back as the silent film era.
Decent enough walk, don’t remember much mention of the television series
