We are going to get yard tickets this time. We are wondering:
Where can we stand besides right at the stage, where a short person can see?
Will we have the sun directly on us if we go to the 2:00 matinee?

It’s unlikely that the yard will be so crowded that you can’t move around to find a place that you can see the stage from, especially as the stage is quite high so as to be visible. And as it’s now well into autumn, the sun is probably not so high in the sky that it would shine directly down into the auditorium, so you should be fine.
