Any itinerary recommendations including Stonehenge, Avebury, Glastonbury, Bath, the Cotswolds and Stratford? We will have a car.
These are easy additions: Winchester, New Forest, Salisbury, Lacock, and Wells. I find Wikipedia a good source. One good thing about driving is that you can stay in Farmhouses. www.nationaltrust.org.uk is a great gateway to open to view sites and hikes, etc. Their memberships and passes include parking.
I definitely think if you go to Stonehenge you should also visit Salisbury. The cathedral is very beautiful and very old and not to be missed. The town is nice too. And try to fit Old Sarum in too.
We did Stonehenge, Salisbury and Avebury in one day.
We did a day trip from Bath to Glastonbury and Wells. The cathedral at Wells is special.
We stayed at the Volunteer Inn at Chipping Campden and did two full days in the Cotswolds as well as day trips to Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Stratford Upon Avon.
