Is there a way to search the travel forum for a particular topic? I know the same questions must be asked over and over. Thanks
Top left of the page theres 5 white stripes, hit that to get search menu.
I'm on a mobile but think its the same as PC as can't see an option to switch.
Yeah as I look at your question, the blue banner at the top, and click on the stripes.
Double click maybe?
Thanks for the quick response but I'm not finding the white stripes. Are they next to rick Steve's Europe logo in dark blue and orange?
Thanks!
thought that might be case
Thanks everyone, I did find it. I think it was the unchecking of the boxes that threw be.
I still find the official search here very poor. Try also searching on Google advanced search with community.ricksteves.com as the site - they now seem to have reindexed everything.
While our website's Search that appears at the top of each page (or behind the five-white-line button on mobile devices) can be really useful, we, the ones working on the website, note that certain types of search terms are not delivering the depth of search results for the forums that some would prefer. It is something that we are working on.
When it comes to search, I think most of us recognize that Google is the best in the business. To use Google to search our site only, their advanced search works like this. If you want to search our site for the "cinque terre," then you need to enter your Google search like so:
cinque terre :ricksteves.com
If you only want the forums to be searched for "visiting neuschwanstein," it would be...
visiting neuschwanstein :community.ricksteves.com
I hope that helps.
