Searching for a family owned hotel……

……in London.

Will be solo in London arriving Feb 3 departing Feb 13.
Typically would rent an apartment, but since solo desire to rent a comfortable room.
Basis of request is thought February would be opportunity to help a family owned operation by providing them with some business.
Seeking recommendations from the forum based upon first hand experiences.
Criteria is friendly engaging operators offering comfortable warm room environment.
Am open to any London location.
The Underground is my friend and I love walking in all forms of weather. This journey I will commence exploring the British Museum and return to the VA. Evenings will be filled with theaters and music. Am a casual diner so will be listening to recommendations from folks I encounter and exploring pubs.
Your help is appreciated.

Traveled solo to UK since Truman was in office.

Rented rooms in family run BnB’s in the 90’s. None of the 3 operate any longer.

Now either return to 63 Bayswater or find a Premiere Inn in a neighborhood I haven’t explored.

Does 63 Bayswater meets your needs? 10 minute amble from Paddington station and across the road from the Lancaster Gate entrance to Hyde Park at the Serpentine. Lancaster Gate tube station 1/2 a block away. Central Line.

Tudkin Flavors of Malaysia is close.
The Mitre Hyde Park is a 5 minute stroll, across from the road from Sheila’s Cafe
The lovely and welcoming Victoria Pub is a 10 minute walk. Always enjoy the atmosphere there.

See if 63 Bayswater works for you.

Horsewoofie, that's the one I mentioned above but you gave it a much better description! 😊
