Sanctuary House in London

Has anyone stayed at the Sanctuary House in London? Was it clean? Bathrooms looked old in photos. Was pub on ground floor noisy? Location looked good for walking to museums, etc. We have reservations (refundable) for 3 nights after Christmas. We would appreciate any advice. Many thanks!

It gets good reviews on Booking.com. It is owned by a pub chain, so you might expect some noise up to 11pm.

I’m at the hotel now. I also stayed here last year. What pics are you looking at? My bathroom is new and updated.

No noise from the pub. They don’t have live music or anything. The rooms are upstairs. Super clean.

Bathrobe. Slippers. Refrigerator.

Breakfast is continental and order hot food off menu.

For me it’s the perfect location. No complaints.

OP over decades have enjoyed London stays.

Have never stayed at the Sanctuary Hoise.

Not knowing your budget I am going to ask you to consider looking at the Premier Inn website. Both the PI’s at Waterloo and County Hall are well situated for 1st London visitors.

I can also suggest 63 Bayswater. It’s comfortable, and well situated. It’s across the street from Hyde Park at Lancaster Gate. Minutes stroll to Lancaster gate tube station. 10-15 minute stroll to Paddington Station.

Great city to enjoy and explore.

Stayed there for three nights in June 2025 (had been recommended by Carrie on this site). No problems with the hotel; pub was nice. Loved the location.
