I'm looking for accommodations for two near Salisbury in June. I've found a few establishments that sound nice, but then read the reviews and find they're on a busy road. I'm wondering if a 'busy road' near Salisbury would be busy all night, or if it'd be commuter traffic and quieter at night. We will have a car, so I hope to find something where parking isn't too difficult. On-site parking would be great, but it seems somewhat elusive.
We stayed at Pear Tree Serviced Apartments last fall and loved it. While we did not have a car, there was ample parking. It is an easy walk to the center as well.
I’ve stayed at Cathedral View B&B a few times pre-Covid. I don’t know about parking. It is on a busy road but they’ve got double glazed windows and even located in a street facing room I was not bothered by road noise. The owners Steve and Wenda are terrific.
I’ve also stayed at the Rose and Crown which is a hotel. My room there faced the garden area where they had receptions/parties both nights I was there (Friday and Saturday) including a spinning disco ball with flashing lights. I’d rather have had road noise. They did have a spectacular breakfast buffet pre-Covid.
I also stayed at the Mercure White Hart which was fine. Just not much charm.
I can't vouch for it yet, but here's where we're staying in September. We chose it because it was a really good price and the interior looked very modern. http://www.qudossalisbury.co.uk/index.php
We'll have a car as well, the website doesn't say anything about parking but according to Expedia there is onsite parking costs £7.50. Offsite parking nearby and street parking is also available.
