Two weeks ago we were at Stanstead headed towards Dublin. Although we had our boarding passes ready on our mobile device & had made it through Security, we had problems boarding. The Gate Attendant would not let us onboard. She said we should have checked at the Ryan ticket counter as our boarding passes said "Visa check" at the top. We had no idea what that meant & no one was willing to tell us about it. Prior to coming to the airport, we had received a Ryan Airlines e-mail instructing us
to download the boarding passes or pay 45 pound/person penalty if we had them printed at the airport. The E-mail had not mention anything about a Visa check or the need to check in at their ticket counter. The attendant finally said she would print them off for us, but we had to wait til everyone else had boarded.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is this a usual or new process?
Thanks, Debbie
