Royal Windsor Horse Show

Hi.

Would love to know your experiences at this annual event. I have tickets (found on "deal zippy.com") and will be attending Friday. Post event, any recommended restaurants in Windsor or Slough before heading back to London?

Thank you

It is quite a major show, out along the river from Windsor. Road traffic is chaotic (non-trivial in the best of times) towards the villages nearby but you should be able to walk from the station, and while the trains will be very crowded, particularly the little tiny shuttle train between Slough (rhymes with cow) and Windsor & Eton Riverside, you should be able to squeeze on - especially if you are either early or late. It will be busy going back, too.

It is a prestigious show like HOYS - Horse of the Year Show and should be plenty of fun. Especially if the weather gods cooperate. The Queen usually makes an appearance sometime during the week, and Prince Philip used to participate in the rolicking driving.

There is no 3-Day Eventing at this show, it is more of a show.

Have fun. After visiting all the food stalls at the show you may not need an evening restaurant.

Hello Nigel,

I just uploaded a youtube of last year's show. Phenomenal! The rwhs.co.uk site is very informative. Looking forward. Weather is the least of my worries. Have mack, will travel.
