Route to joyride through Cotswolds

Hey there!
I'm taking my elderly mother to England in mid-October. Among other plans, we will be renting a car in Bath and spending two nights in Chipping Campden before returning the car to Bath. I'm looking for recommendations on routes to drive through the Cotswolds.

In September 2004, my husband and I had a very similar itinerary and, at that time, Rick's guide had some excellent recommendations for specific roads to take and commentary on the sites you would see as you went along. I remember reading the guide aloud to my husband as he drove the car and feeling amazed at the better understanding we had of the views. Unfortunately, I don't remember which roads we were driving at the time.

I know that we will see beautiful scenery, pretty much regardless of where we go. I am hoping we can do the walk from Upper Slaughter to Lower Slaughter, as I remember that as the highlight of my previous trip. It will depend on the weather and how my mother is feeling when we get there.

I have a current guide and I don't see the detailed comments that made the last trip so amazing. Does anyone have recommendations? Is it possible someone has a record of the details I have mentioned from the old guide?

Appreciate any thoughts!

@GoldenGirl
Thanks for the links!

I guess joyride can have that connotation in the US, as well. I just wasn't thinking that way. LOL.

You can probably get that old RS Guide on Amazon or EBay.

Backing up Golden Girl, whatever you do don’t tell people that you plan to go joyriding whilst you’re here in the U.K.

We just started driving, got ‘lost’, and had a great ride. Came across Bibury and Northleach, both interesting places I had never heard of
