Route closures on trip from Heathrow

While checking our route of travel from Heathrow to our hotel near Victoria Station - I have found route closure notices. We plan on taking the underground from the airport thru Hammersmith Direct line - or - thru Kensington on the Circle line = depending upon the time we actually begin our journey. The closure is between Acton -Uxbridge. Am I correct that this does not affect our journey - or will we have to make a change in our route? What is standard operating procedure for transport services when there are route closures?

You have to have your own plan "B". A kindly station took pity on us last year and showed some alternate routes when this happened to us. Nothing makes your mind go blank faster than a last minute change in plans. One of the London experts will surely have some specific details for you.

And the London experts will be out of bed shortly. There are several with a detailed knowledge of the Underground; they sure helped me last year. Check back here later tonight or in the morning, for their input.

Hi
thanks for the heads up,
we are also travelling this weekend

info is
The District and Circle lines will be closed all weekend from Gloucester Road and South Kensington to Aldgate and Aldgate East.
But ..there are no notices of track closures on the Piccadilly line

If it's Acton Town - Uxbridge it shouldn't cause a problem - that's the other branch of the Piccadilly Line.

"Standard operating procedure" is "find another route". Sometimes if the Piccadilly Line branch to Heathrow is closed they temporarily allow use of the cheaper Underground tickets on Heathrow Connect trains to Paddington.

This document lists closures up to six months ahead. None on the Piccadilly apart from Acton Town to Uxbridge, which as said above is not the Heathrow branch.

Thanks, all! We are flying into Heathrow on May 17th - that weekend they have planned work at a few locations for switches, etc. Acton-Uxbridge is one (Piccadilly line)- the other was on the Circle line between Earling Broadway and Turnham Green. We're arriving late (5:20) - and need to get to our hotel before dark to get our bearings - so am concerned about getting lost underground! I realize by then the sun won't be setting until after 8pm - but it will calm the nerves if we know what to do...
