Room rental for student in London?

I've used this site for travel and it's been wonderful, but also wonder if anyone (especially someone in London?) might know of a resource to find a great room for rent in London? My daughter is finishing up a Masters degree in London, and needs a rental for September and half of October. Any ideas of how to find something reasonable and safe? Thank you!

Since you aren't looking for an entire semester, just 6 weeks or so, consider renting a room in someone's home. I have done this several times through Airbnb and have had wonderful experiences. Never for 6 weeks but for a couple of weeks on several occasions. The price is far lower than renting an entire apartment and she'll be with people who are locals and who know the city.
I just ran a quick search for 9/1 - 10/15 and found plenty of rooms for rent under $3,000 for that entire time which, for central London, is quite good. I applied a filter so she would have a lock on her door and internet. You'd have to read the individual listings to see if there are any with private bathrooms but I'm sure they exist. There are lots of filter setting you can use depending on the specifics of what she wants.
The school through which she is doing her academic program should have a housing office that helps place students. She should check with them for inexpensive student housing that is available through them...it may be easier, cheaper and close to campus.
What part of the city will she be in? That will make a huge difference in price.

Hello Anita and Emma!

Thank you so much for your responses - I'm sorry it took so long to reply. For some reason, I didn't receive a notification that I had responses.
She is currently living in the West Hampstead area (her lease is ending in about a week!), and studies at Imperial. Anyway - we have been checking Airbnb but there isn't much available that isn't too far away. Our search continues . . .

Thanks again!
