room in Penzance for 2 ladies......ground floor due to accesible limitations

A girlfriend and I will be in Penzance or St Ives for 5 nights. We would like a place with two beds and a shower that you can walk in ...maybe with a hand held spray. Also I cannot do many stairs...no more than three...so need a ground floor and hopefully a one level air bnb or room in a hotel. We are taking the train from Moreton in Marsh in the Cotswolds. Then we take the train from Penzance or St Ives to London on the last day.

Thank you if anyone has experience with this kind of place for two ladies who are "mature".

No experience but we are staying in St Ives for 3 days in September. We have learned that St Ives is very hilly and finding lodging without stairs has been challenging. There is an area called Downalong that is fairly level and we are staying there. Knowing this about St. Ives, I might suggest looking at Penzance to see if it is less hilly and stairy.

The Premier Inn in Penzance describes itself as a one minute walk from the Railway Station. when booking make sure you ask for an accessible room.

Anything in St. Ives that's not on the waterfront may well be on a hill. I'm afraid that includes the Tate. I'm not even sure you can get out of the train station without dealing with steps. I was in St. Ives six years ago, and my memory is hazy.

Thank you all. I will check with Premier Inn and try to find out if the Penzance Train station or St Ives has stairs and no accessibility.

I can tell you that Penzance Rail Station has level access, and straight out to the adjacent bus station.
The PI is literally across the street from the railway station, it could not physically be any closer or simpler.
As you exit the station (which is by the seaward facing side door) the bus station is ahead of you. For the PI turn right for a few yards, and you will see the PI across the street.
St Ives is an old fishing village and has narrow, congested streets, hills and steps everywhere. A lovely place, although too busy for my liking in high season, but has significant access issues. You can almost always find a hill round any steps, and would be able to get from Downalong to the Tate or the Town Museum or all the restaurants scattered around the harbour.
St Ives Station itself has step free access and a ramp to the platform (source- National Rail) and is straight on the promenade, but Downalong is the other side of the harbour so quite a way from the station. The bus station is up a steep hill from the Town Centre.
I just think St Ives is going to be a hassle for you- not unmanageable, but probably not as pleasant as you might want.
