Rooftop Bar in London-suggestions?

Ideally, we would like to visit the Sky Garden Bar between 7:30-9pm on the one night we will be in London but might not be able to get free tickets. We do not want to pay a table fee or minimum and that is required if you make a table reservation there.

We would like other rooftop bar suggestions that are safe places to travel to via public transport and walking in the evening. I saw one called Cloud M that is also near the Tower and was able to make a reservation there with no charge or no minimum as far as I know. The OXO rooftop looks interesting on the river. There is a place called Garden Bar but its located in an area that my sister said was an absolute nightmare in the evening. She was in London in August last year.

I always get great advice from this forum so interested in thoughts/ideas, especially those that have great views but do not attract tourists or charge a minimum. Our hotel is next to Victoria Train station so that is where we need to end up. Thanks in advance!

If you try for the Sky Garden tickets on the day they become available it shouldn’t be difficult to get them. I’ve been and I’m hardly the most organised person! It’s pretty busy up there but the views are great. I was really impressed. The price of coffees and snacks was very high so I’d expect to pay a lot for a drink.

You could try the bar at the Shangri La hotel at the Shard for a drink if you want a more relaxing/special experience.

The two places I was going suggest I hesitated, some of my recommendations are a bit (aging) hipster.

However, Frank's Cafe in Peckham and Netil360 in Hackney are my recommendations and they also appear on the Conde Nast list Claudia posted. The Bussey Building, where you can wave to the patrons of Frank's next door, is also on that list.

Maybe a bit out of the way, more for the locals and adventurous, but you can read about them on the list linked above.
