romantic london dinner

we will be staying in Kensington in June for our anniversary and would like suggestions for a romantic dinner.
Would prefer seafood or traditional British fare rather than French as so many of the restuarants seem to offer
?suggestions
Thanx

If you are looking for something with a view then you might want to consider one of the restaurants in the The Shard. They are just above the 30th floor and have magnificent views across the Thames to London proper. Each has a little bit of a different atmosphere but all are quite modern and have striking views over London that you just can't get anywhere else since it's across the river.
The restaurant at the Tate Modern is also very nice and is just across the river from St. Paul's giving it an amazing view too.
I don't think that any of these are terribly British but they might have seafood on the menu when you go?
A restaurant we really like in Covent Garden is Brown's. Excellent food, nice atmosphere, good prices by London's standards, and the service is above average.

I have not yet been to Albannach (I'll be going this May) but they have good reviews and have some of the traditional British food you are looking for. You could try to ask for a table with a view over Trafalgar Square.

You may enjoy a traditionally British roast Sunday lunch - one I've enjoyed many times is at the Hawksmoor Seven Dials. For a set £19.50 you get a big piece of roast longhorn with a massive yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, carrots, greens, and gravy. They also have other locations, but I've only been to the Seven Dials one. It's good fun afterwards to walk off some calories with a nice stroll around Covent Garden and over to Trafalgar Square to see whats going on.
