My husband and I are joining Rick Steves Southern England tour in June. We some afternoons of free time in various towns.
Is there any excursions that we should reserve ahead of time?

Hope you enjoy the tour. We were on the Southern England tour in May 2017, and had a great time. Here is a link to my trip report:
We did not feel the need to book extra excursions, as we experienced interesting things just by walking around.

I would say that this tour has fewer and shorter blocks of free time than some others. We (Mom and I) also did not feel the need to make any special detours or reservations.
