I think it may have been a podcast of Rick's where I heard him talk about the differences t areas in London and (as us here know) it's best to learn before you go...
He spoke of an area where as he puts it, beautiful girls lure unsuspecting tourists in for a drink where they find themselves having to pay $100 and the "doors have no handles" so they are trapped.
Where was he talking about? A specific street? I'm not worried, honestly I thought it would be funny to see the area (in daytime).
I know London well and I have literally no idea what he's talking about. If he's talking from personal experience then you'd think he'd know better than to get lured into a club. And if he's not talking from personal experience then I'd take it with a pinch of salt.
I think that is a universal issue with strip clubs and similarly seedy establishments worldwide, isn't it?

He's talking about places in Soho known as "clip joints". In other cities the scam can occur as Rick describes it with girls accosting men in clubs or the street and inviting them to "my favourite bar", but in London the tendency is for such places to pretend to be strip joints or sex clubs with a hot girl in skimpy clothes outside the door. Naturally no such sexual services are on offer and the would-be punter ends up being frog-marched to the nearest ATM to empty his bank account under threats of hospitalisation.
There has been a police crackdown and Soho is getting gentrified, but there are a couple of the old clip joints still active so be alert. However, as a woman you are extremely unlikely to be a target for such a scam - I've never heard of a lesbian clip joint.
