Has anyone ever returned to London from Hampton Court via a river cruise? We will be taking a train to Hampton Court in the morning but on the return to London we were thinking of taking the boat cruise. It's a long trip all the way back to London So we were thinking about getting off in Richmond, spend some time there then taking the tube back.
That’s a great way to do it. I once did the full boat trip from Hampton to Westminster and it took a good few hours. If you get off at Richmond you’ll have the fun of seeing a lovely part of London as you stroll along to the station, and you’ll get back to central London much sooner than by boat.
If weather is good do it.
If you stop in Richmond stroll over to enjoy a pint and/or meal at the Angel and the Crown on Church Court passage. The very nice Alligators Mouth children’s bookstore is adjacent. Mentioning if you need family gifts.
If you want to meet the best pub dog then get off in Richmond and take a 15-20 stroll to the Mitre on St Mary’s Grove to meet Rudi. If Edgar is still making pizzas, then order one!!!
Say hi to Chris the owner!
