We leave for England in about 5 weeks....so excited!! Our London lodging is about a 3 minute walk south of the Chancery Lane tube stop. I'm looking for casual / mid-price places to eat. After a long day of walking, museums, etc. we like to eat close to "home" so it doesn't take long to get back to a shower and bed :)
Pub grub is fine. Look at the Old Bank of England. Serves food and has a gorgeous interior.
Guidos for Italian.
Pret a Manager for sandwiches, salads and soups to go.
If I remember correctly there a tasty Japanese BBQ in the area.
You’ll not starve in London. All sorts of cafes, restaurants and fast food chains to try out.
Plenty of decent pubs and restaurants round there.
The only one I can recommend from personal knowledge is that you can get really, really nice cakes from Konditor & Cook at 46 Grays Inn Road. Especially their chocolate and cranberry "Boston brownies".
