Restaurants in Bath, London and Edinburgh

In July, we travel first to Bath for 2 nights, then London (staying in Soho area) for 3 nights and then Edinburgh (staying in Charlotte Square area) for 3 nights. If you have any favorite restaurants that you could share in Bath, London and/or Edinburgh, I would appreciate it. We tend to eat in casual places but if there is a special restaurant that you like that is more dressed, that is good too.
Thank you

While in Edinburgh make sure you have called ahead and have a reservation at the Witchery Restaurant, it's at the base of the Castle and the food is excellent.

Also, while in London consider having afternoon tea at the Petersham Hotel in Richmond (a suburb of London), this will be a experience you will not forget!

London restaurants: Nandos, Dishoom, Misato, Flat Iron and Bills.

Pub grub is tasty as well.

For a Sunday Roast consider: Temper in SoHo or Shoreditch.

We just had dinner in Bath at Sotto Sotto. Would definitely recommend. Also, The Architect is a beautiful restaurant.

At first glance, this is a strange question. However, you get inundated with thousands of fast food places, chippies, pubs etc and get all confused. At least I do. I don't want to eat the same stuff I do at home in the colonies (no Nando's or KFC for example - not that I do that very often - ahem...). I want traditional, and good. So thanks for the suggestions, I am going to hope these places are still there when I go next.

Our favorite place in Edinburgh is Maison Bleue at 36 Victoria St. It is just off George IV Bridge St. which is just off High St. (The Royal Mile) close to the castle. Go to googlemaps.com, type in the address, and you'll be able to locate it easily. You can use the street view to "walk" to it before leaving home. You can't miss the blue façade. We've never had a problem being seated at lunch, but dinner reservations are advised. Small place, same ownership for years, and excellent food.

Unlike your translation service, these are areas not restaurants. Expect for Convention Garden which doesn’t exist.

In principal, I agree with you. I don't want to go to KFC when I'm abroad. However, years ago, my husband and I ended up on the outskirts of Cheltenham with no options other than KFC. It was actually really fun. They served large tubs of gravy but no mashed potatoes. This really confused us. We had to ask what one was supposed to do with the gravy. "Put it on your chips (fries), of course!"

So, if you can find someplace local and authentic, go for it! If you're stuck with what you think is familiar, don't worry. It can be very different too!
