Restaurant Recommendations Near Heathrow

Any suggestions where to eat breakfast and/or dinner near Heathrow if we don't have a car? We're staying near the airport two nights. We plan to get the advance purchase Heathrow Express ticket and spend one full day and evening in London; however, the first night near Heathrow we're not planning to go far. Suggestions that are a short walk from any of the Tube stations on the way towards London would be great, or anything else you think worthwhile. The trip is planned for late June.

Where exactly are you staying near Heathrow?

Are you planning to go to LHR to take the tube into London? Is that the plan?

There are some good spots in Hounslow but it would help guide you if you’d say where you’ll be located.

The Heathrow Express will take you ONLY to Paddington Station. From Paddington you can take the tube to Westminster at Parliament Square.

We're staying at the Sofitel at Terminal 5. Because of arrival and departure times we've decided to make things easier and stay in one place for two nights.

Bulstrode Pub looks like its easy to get to on the tube. Houndslow Central. Exit. 1-5 minute walk to the Pub. That would before dinner.

I’d ask about breakfast from the Sofitel staff.

We had a good dinner in a pleasant atmosphere at the restaurant at the Sofitel in 2018. We were only there one night, en route to Switzerland. For our afternoon and early evening in London we used the tube because it drops you off in a more convenient location than the Heathrow Express. We used the Green Park station which is convenient for both the Parliament area and the West End. (Other stations might be even more convenient - we used the one with which we were familiar.)

One of the reasons we always stay at the Sofitel in Terminal 5 is do that we can eat at their wonderful French restaurant.Make a reservation in advance. Le Belle Époque.

You won't save much time taking the Heathrow Express and then switching to the tube to get towards more central London for sightseeing. Better to just take the Piccadilly Line. Either get off or change depending on what you want to see.

I've also stayed at the Sofitel--I'll be there again in four weeks--and they have a decent selection of restaurants. There is nothing within walking distance of the Sofitel.

We are on the 6/19 BO England tour that ends in London. We fly home the next day so we’re planning to spend some time the last day in London but plan on staying at Sofitel the night before flight .

Our flight however may be Terminal 3…flying American Airlines…departs 8:40 am. I know there are hotels closer to T3 but I prefer the Sofitel.

Dumb question: at that early hour - can we get a cab to take us to T3 from Sofitel?

You can get from the Sofitel at T5 to T3 by either the tube or the Heathrow Express. We did that in 2018 and will be doing it again in June. If you ask Google how to get from LHR T5 to T3 you will get the specifics on how to do this I think the transfer is even free, although I am not certain about that.

Cynthia….thank you …I know about the tube and HE…it’s been a long while since I’ve been to Heathrow…….we will need to transfer to T3 @ 4:30am and I’d like to know if we would also have the option of a taxi.

Transfer is free with Oyster card or contactless CC or getting a free ticket from HE machine.

I can’t find timetable for HE Terminal to Terminal.

it may be free but the first train from T5 is not until 5:12 so won't help our poster.

If the Sofitel can't get a taxi nobody can. Certainly they will.
