Restaurant Recommendations - Bath

I’ll be in Bath for 3 nights,

Can I please get some moderately (*) priced restaurant recommendations?

One place I’ve identified is The Scallop Shell.

(*) $$ or $$$ in google reviews

The small shop that sits over the Pultney Bridge has good food and is very reasonable. The Thai restaurant under the bridge is also very good. Sally Lunn’s is wonderful.

The Green Rocket is an awesome vegan restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch. It is inexpensive and near the Bath Cathedral. I ate there several times last December and will be back this December and will be eating there again.

A note, I am not Vegan, and my friend is a meat eater and we both enjoyed.

Oh gosh, I love the Green Rocket! I AM vegan and their food is delish. They have wonderful desserts!

I also vote for Yak Yeti Yak even though I haven't eaten there since Covid. Because not only is their food good but who can resist the name?

Don’t miss the Pump Room restaurant, at the ancient Roman baths. We enjoyed Afternoon Tea there.

I agree with Cyn about the Pump Room for tea. And the good thing is that your companion can have lunch instead of tea if they prefer.

We have eaten at The Oak restaurant twice and the food (vegetarian) was delicious both times. It is located right near Bath Abbey. The ambiance is very nice, like eating in someone’s comfortable home. Lots of windows in the street-level floor.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Joya Italian Steakhouse. They bring you a hot stone and you grill your own steak. It was fun and delicious. Near the river and bridge.

We loved the Scallop Shell last month, along with The Salamander, where we had our Sunday roast. The Salamander makes the most delicious homemade donuts for dessert or, rather, pudding!

We ate a great British Roast dinner at the Chequers pub. Its an easy walk from the Cathedral but down a non-touristy street. It looks a little ordinary from the outside, but the meal was exceptional. If you sit upstairs, you see the cooks preparing the meal. It was a bit pricey, but it was a nice evening. Make sure you book ahead on open table.

The Green Bird Cafe 11 Margaret’s Buildings, Bath, BA1 2LP is also an excellent lunch stop. Just up from the Circus and before you get to the Crescent on a side street.

We loved Antica, an Italian restaurant on the bridge. Very reasonable and a deep menu.

If you want something special, the tasting menu at Henry's was fantastic and not too outrageous.
