Restaurant recommendations around the Queens Theatre

My wife and I will be attending Le Mis at the Queens Theatre on December 5. This is our first visit to London so we are looking for recommendations for a restaurant prior to the performance. Open to all suggestions, we are not looking for an expensive “high-end” establishment. Thanks!

Hotel Corinthia's restaurant, The Northall, has a pre-theater dinner that is excellent and reasonable too. It is a five star star hotel but pre theater prices are not high at all. beautiful setting, really wonderful meals. We took the the Tube to Embankment stationand walked a short distance.

We like Côte Brasserie for pre-theatre dining. The French-inspired food is reliably good, and the service is friendly and professional. They have an "early dining" ( before 7:00 pm) set menu with two courses (starter plus main) for £12.95, or three (adding dessert) for a bit more.

The Soho Côte is a few blocks up Wardour Street from Queens Theatre.

To focus in on possibles do you have any preferences for food type?

We are pretty much good with most food types. Not Japanese or Sushi. French is OK but probably not a favorite. Not looking for anything too heavy, probably shy away from steak houses.

I see Les Miz won out over Wicked.

I like the Bill's restaurant which is about 5 blocks away and an easy stroll to the Queens Theatre.

Peruse their menu to see if it's something you'd like.

You'd want the Bills in Covent Garden on Lexington @ Brewer Street.

After eating you'd head out keeping the Duke of Arglye pub on your right and proceed up Brewer Street 2 blocks to the O Bar and turn right. Then walk along Wardour Street toward Sharftsbury passing the Duke of Wellington pub. The Queens theatre is at the corner of Shaftsbury and Wardour. You'll be across for the laterned entrance to London's Chinatown.

I like this stroll as I enjoy looking at the store fronts and watching everyone heading to Les Miz and the other nearby theatres.

Piccadilly Circus will be the tube stop you want to use to get to this area and to get back to your accommodation. It's all about the Neon advertising there. Quite the eye candy.
