I’m looking for nice restaurant that won’t break the bank for pre theatre. I’m seeing Les Liasons Dangereuses at the Lyttleton in Southbank. Budget, no more than 30 to 40 pounds max per person.

The Lyttleton is part of the Royal Festival Hall/Southbank Centre complex which has a variety of restaurants at various price points.
If the weather is on your side the terrace in front of the main festival hall overlooking the river is a nice place to sit and there are usually some food cart options around there as well.

As mentioned, there are many great places to eat nearby- I really like Forza Wine at the National Theatre: https://forzawine.com/
If you want something even more casual, there's The Understudy, also at the National Theatre, which is burgers and similar: https://understudysouthbank.co.uk/
I personally like eating within the National Theatre itself as you don't have to go very far once you finish eating- so you can be a little more relaxed about time. Plus everyone working there knows you have a show to get to and is mindful of the time!
