Restaurant after Kew garden

I recall someone recommending a restaurant they enjoyed for dinner after visiting Kew gardens. I thought I saved it but apparently not.

We are going in December and would enjoy a causal dinner after.

Any suggestions?

We normally eat at Tap on the Line after a visit to Kew: https://www.tapontheline.co.uk/

It's a pub right on the railway line, as the name suggests, in what I believe is the former ticket office for Kew Gardens station. It's a Fullers pub so the food and beer selection is very good. And very easy to get home afterwards.

Thank you both! I really do like the idea of eating on the train line! So convenient, although the Richmond option has its merits too. I have not been there and I understand it is a very pleasant town.

It is a lovely borough. We stayed in Richmond last year for 5 days for our jet lag recovery time and really enjoyed it. I will be there next month with different family members for the Kew Gardens lights and we are going out earlier in the day to have lunch at Petersham Nurseries. It is a short bus ride from the Richmond Tube Station. There is also a nice Ottolenghi in the central business area and a lovely walk along the Thames. Our Kew tickets are for 4:20 so after making a bit of a day of it, we will head back to central London.

Mignonette is wonderful, in the Michelin guide and offers 3 courses at lunch for £25, which is surely the best deal in London

Beth, when I was there a couple of years ago, I ate at The Prince’s Head in Richmond, and I loved my meal. It's a pub that is featured in Ted Lasso (at least the outside), but I didn't eat there because of that. I actually ran into a woman while waiting for Kew Gardens to open, who lives in that area and she recommended it. She said the food was very good, and it was. I had Shepherd's Pie and sticky toffee pudding; two of my favorite foods, lol! The service was great, and two and I enjoyed being called "love" by the nice-looking male server. 😂

I'll second Claudia's vote for The Botanist. I don't remember what we ate, but at least one of our dishes was vegetarian, and I know we were very pleased with our meal. We were staying across the street at the Coach & Horses, so it was handy to our accommodations, too.

The Prince's Head is also a Fuller's pub, and I agree the food there is very good. That's long been our favourite pub in Richmond but since TL made it famous it's always super crowded. We ate at the Botanist once and it was pretty good.

Wow! I feel like I need more than one meal near Kew now!

But I am sure this will super helpful to others too.
