Renting car at Heathrow - returning in the Cotswolds?

I'll be arriving in London is Sept. and want to rent a car at Heathrow, drive to the Cotswolds, spend a few days, return the car in Moreton-in-Marsh and take the train in to London rather than drive there.

Has anyone done this? What car rental agency did you use? I realize it may cost more but I'm worried about driving in to London. Thanks.

no need to drive into London - return car to Heathrow then take the tube in

Alternatively return the car in Oxford - all the big names have a base there, and they are mostly strung off the Botley Road on the western approach to the city. Plan ahead for a rail fare and it could be as low as £5.

We always rent at Heathrow, return there, and tube into London as has been mentioned. Works well.

There is no longer a car rental facility at Moreton-in-Marsh. Cannot return a car there.

As one alternative to other suggestions, there are several car rental places in Windsor. If you have any interest in spending a couple of hours (or a night) in Windsor, you could return the car there then train to London.

But the simplest is to pick it up at Heathrow; return it to Heathrow.
