renting a flat in london...londonguestsuites.com

Hello...traveling early summer to London and are looking to rent an apartment rather than hotel. Have located a flat in Covent Gardens (property 3941) which appears to be just what we are looking for. Does anyone have any experience with this particularly flat or the company involved in the lease...londonguestsuites.com? Thank you in advance for any help. Please be specific in your pros and cons if possible. Thanks!

Hi Ruth
Looked up that apt, sure it looks nice but keep reading because it is a fourth floor walk up!! No elevator. Been there done that and it was a struggle carrying luggage up all those stairs. If you're fit go for it. We are using airbnb for a 2 bedroom in covent gardens with an elevator, one of our must haves. Haven't heard of london guest suites. Good luck and happy travels.

Thanks for you input...have actually completed more research and london guest suites gets mixed reviews, so I am exploring other avenues.

Have found great reviews on Ivy Lettings and so we are leaning more in that direction as they seem to consistently receive favorable reviews...don't want to ruin a probable one time trip to England due to poorly run property management company!

Also...airbnb is another we are looking at as well...they do seem to have some really nice places with lots of alternative pricing and location options! Good luck in your travels as well!

You might try Coach House Rentals. We had a great experience using them. They don't have lots of properties, but their prices are competitive and you get very personal and attentive service.

Hi
We have contracted with London Coach House Rentals, but cannot find a phone# to contact them
to arrange for our arrival.
Can someone please respond with a phone# for London Coach House Rentals ? Their website
does not supply a phone #.

Thank you!
Debbie

I've never heard of them but a little digging on their website yielded both the hours their helpline is manned (a few hours in the morning and a few in the afternoon, UK time) and the phone number which is on the page http://www.rentals.chslondon.com/about.htm, middle of the page under Contact Details.

Google can be your friend...

BTW - don't they provide you all that with the contract? Including numbers for the owner of the property?

Big fan of Airbnb. My rule of thumb is there must be at least a half a dozen up-to-date and positive reviews, the owner contacts me within 24 hours of my inquiry and continues to email in a timely fashion if I have questions, there is a picture of the owner on the page, (not a pet or photo of Big Ben), the owner gives me the exact address so I can see if the property is in Travel Zones 1 & 2, as well as how close a tube stop is, if there are nearby ATM's, pubs (I do this by using Google Maps Satellite and Street View options once they provide the actual address). Never been burned or upset with any of my lodgings thru Airbnb. The owner doesn't get your money till you have checked in and often you'll find your host becomes a friend.

I agree with Nigel: If you've contracted with them, Coach House should give you lots of contact information, including phone numbers. Read through all the info they've sent you. If not, contact them via email (the same address you used to correspond with them in the first place), and they should be able to help you.

Have fun! I wish I were going to England this summer.
