I am going from London to Bovington Tank Museum near Wareham and believe I will need to stop at Bournemouth to pick up a rental car. Europcar is located in Bournemouth, not at the train station. As far as I know there is no rental car company at the train station. Is anyone familiar with the ease/difficulty of getting from the Bournemouth train station to Europcar (located about 7km from the station? I am assuming hiring a taxi at the station wouldn't be difficult. I am planning to return this car in Cambridge and then pick up the train to return to London. So I have the same question about the convenience of hailing a taxi in Cambridge and returning to the station (about 4 km away). I have never travelled to England so any advice you have is much appreciated!

Google maps shows the taxis at Bournemouth station
and at Cambridge station
you'll have no problem getting a taxi

I can confirm there is no car rental at the station. I've been there at 3am (waiting for the first train out) and there has been plenty of taxi activity on the rank due to 24 hour National Express bus services, so can't foresee any problems. The office is actually closer to Poole Railway station, which a!so has a taxi rank.
There is also a half hourly local bus, #6, from the station.

I don't know if they still do, but Enterprise used to collect and deliver customers upon prior arrangement. It might be worth asking...
