Hi
We are 4 traveling from Newcastle to Edinburgh and want to rent a car for that leg of our trip.
Any suggestions and or who to stay away from?

As a general rule, stick to the bigger brands. More specifically, we have rented several times from Enterprise, and have always found them very good. Personally I'd take the train, but I'm assuming you have a specific reason for wanting a car.

Avoid companies like Green Motion or Easirent that consistently get bad reviews. Don't book via a third party either. They may offer cheaper rates - but there is a reason for that as many unfortunate customers have found out to their cost.
