Reminder of Nationwide Train Strikes this Wednesday 5 October

A reminder if you are counting on trains in the UK this week.

This strike on Wednesday the 5th will affect virtually the entire network. The affected train companies are: Avanti West Coast, Chiltern, CrossCountry, Greater Anglia, Great Western Railway, Hull Trains, LNER, London Overground, Northern, Southeastern, TransPennine Express, West Midlands Trains

The bottom line is plan and check before travel. There are additional strikes to follow, including also this week the strike of similar impact this Saturday.

Am I correct to assume that I am in the clear for train Edinburgh to York and back 13th and 14 th on LNER? I have till tonight to cancel my hotel in York without penalty.

We had first hand experience when we flew from Milan to London Heathrow Saturday, October 1. What a mess!

the strikes announced and expected to occur are 1, 5, 8th. Also the 10th for Scotrail.

13 and 14th are after that, and since 2 weeks' notice must be given I would suggest that there will not be strikes on 13 and 14.
