We have an overnight stay in London going to and also coming back from our Zagreb trip coming up.
Looking for a recommendation on a hotel reasonably close to LHR.

Premier Inns are affordable and nice hotels, not sure about what is near Heathrow.
We stayed at the Sheraton Heathrow several years ago and it was nice and convenient.

There's a couple Premier Inns at Heathrow. We stayed at the one at Terminal 4 but I think they will shuttle you to the terminal you need.

If you're looking for a hotel at Terminal 5 you can't get any closer than the Sofitel. It's literally connected to the terminal. You can reach it without going outside.
About a five minute walk from the exit to customs to the hotel's reception desk.
The hotels located on Heathrow property do not have shuttles. To get between them you either take the Underground, Elizabeth Line or Heathrow Express between terminals.
For hotels off of Heathrow property, many can be reached by the Hoppa bus. There is a charge for this.
