We are seeking guidance and experiences on taking transportation from Heathrow 3 to Oxford. Looks like the bus might be it or the best? Thanks to all responders.
The Airline is a frequent fast bus between Heathrow and several Oxford locations. We had a good experience with it a couple of years back. Oxford has good train service but you'd have to go into London Paddington (bad idea) or out to Reading (not as bad) first. Simpler just to take the bus.
Not sure when you're traveling but we were just there and there is a TON of train line cancellations right now due to construction. I could not make sense of it - but Iooked it over many times. The buses (we were coming from Gatwick, not Heathrow) were simpler but slow. We were dropping off a study abroad student with more luggage than we typically carry and so, in the end, we opted for a ride with Blackberry cars. It was not that much more than the bus, given that there were three of us. It might worth looking into if your party is large.
Oxford station is due to fully reopen on Monday. The coach is though the most straightforward public transport mode.
Just to clarify, "coach" in the UK = "bus" in America-speak. I should have made that point in my earlier post.
