Hi all - we'll be in the Aylesbury area for a couple of days and wondering what towns/walks/areas in the Chilterns anyone might recommend?
Thanks!

Waddesdon Manor, a National Trust property just north of Aylesbury is worth half a day - the former home of the Rothschild family. There are extensive walks around the estate and an excellent tea room.
Bletchley Park isn’t too far if you are interested in WW2 history.
There are excellent walks on Dunstable Downs near Whipsnade Zoo if you want hills - this area generally isn’t very undulating. The Whipsnade chalk figure of a white lion near Dagnall can be viewed from the Downs.
The Trenchard Museum between Aylesbury and Wendover must be booked several days in advance and is on an Air Force base - good for WW2 history.
There are good walks along the canal tow path and around Hughenden, another National Trust property.
There are many charming towns and villages around Aylesbury such as Amersham, Thame and Oxford is nearby. Midsomer Murders was filmed in this area.
Bicester Village, the country’s leading outlet centre is nearby.
Have a walk around Bekonscot model village
