I needed to renew my Two Together railcard and as I was filling out the form it was time to pay. I guess I have my Discover card info saved in my phone and it autopopulated. What the heck I thought and pushed Enter. It was rejected with a message about not being 3D secure. I typed in the info from a Chase Visa card and it went right through.

My understanding is that Discover Card is not widely accepted in Europe. Best to use Visa and MasterCard.
As far as I'm aware the rail industry generally accepts Amex cards as well as Visa and Mastercard. But Discover cards are very rarely accepted in the UK.
Acceptance of Discover at a base level the same as Diners Club in the UK so there isn't much outside of the likes of mid to upscale hotels & restaurants and some other travel services. However, it is an option for any merchant who processes through Barclaycard.
