Ramsgate or Broadstairs or Botany Bay Reserve

We are wondering what these places are like and which might be a good choice for a day trip from Canterbury. We will be using trains or buses.

We are looking for natural beauty and a nice seaside experience. We have already been to Whitstable on a previous trip.

These are all nice places. My personal favourite is Broadstairs, which has a very nice beach and also has Charles Dickens' house (tho I haven't visited the house yet). Botany Bay is more a place for walking between Margate and Broadstairs, it's not really a town. What I would do is either hire bikes and cycle between Margate and Ramsgate and back, stopping in Broadstairs, or if you prefer to walk, walk between Botany Bay and Margate or Broadstairs and Ramsgate. You can walk right along the coast and there are buses and trains between these places. Or just relax at Broadstairs.

Another place you may want to look at nearby is Deal/Sandwich.

I agree that Deal is also an option. If you take the bus there from Canterbury, get off at Walmer and walk along the dedicated seafront path to Deal Castle, about a mile north. Past that, the path is next to the road (still nice). Deal has a long pier with a cafe at the end. There are several pubs along the seafront.
