Rail pass on Elizabeth line?

I am traveling next month, landing in Heathrow and then taking a train from London onward to my destination. I have a Eurail pass and will be using it on my arrival day.
Previously was planning to travel from LHR to Paddington on the Elizabeth line, and assumed I needed to use some form of contactless payment to pay for the journey from LHR to Paddington. But now I'm seeing info that the Eurail pass can be used.

Does anyone know if Eurail pass is valid on the Elizabeth line?
If so, how would you go about it? If you must access the train by tapping in at the turnstiles, what do you do if you have a mobile pass instead of an oyster card, apple pay or credit card?

thanks very much for any assistance!

Yes, the Elizabeth Line (Cross Rail) is a train not a tube

Yes, you can use a Eurail pass on the Elizabeth Line. You can also use it on Heathrow Express, which is faster than the Elizabeth Line, if need be.

You'll need to add the journey to your planner on the Eurail app, which will then give you your barcode/QR code. It should work at the turnstile, but if not just speak to a member of staff and they'll let you through.

Thanks very much Nigel and akkejakke for your helpful info!

I originally thought that Heathrow Express was included in Eurail pass but saw more recent statements that it is not and to ignore info on Eurail website to that effect. Elizabeth line seems a reasonable alternative if that is the case.

TfL-managed gatelines do not have QR/bar readers, although if you are only using it to Paddington from Heathrow you will presently arrive in the National Rail station that does have them. Although you may well need help from the gateline staff.
