Rail - forthcoming Engineering Work - GWR - Routes West of London

A lot of engineering work is coming up over the next few months on routes operated by GWR (& other companies). Most notably, GWR long distance trains will divert into London Euston (instead of Paddington) on certain dates. This is mainly because not far west of Paddington, a large new station is being built for HS2 = the high speed railway that is being built to connect London with Birmingham & hopefully beyond.

Regarding the diversions to Euston (via Oxford)- https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/england/london-paddington-station-closure-28-and-29-november

Although diverted services are calling at Oxford and Milton Keynes those calls are for staff and pathing purposes only. The last passenger stop London bound is at Swindon, as is the first stop westbound.

Apart from a few Charter trains this is the first passenger opportunity to travel the new Oxford to Bletchley railway.

The Night Riviera sleeper is diverted via a very rarely used route in South West London (not Oxford), but it will be too dark to see anything, and is first/last call at Taunton.
