Quiet New Year's Eve dinner in London?

I had booked one of my favorite London restaurants for New Year's Eve and just got a message that they're canceling our reservation because they will be closed. Can anyone recommend somewhere upscale but relaxed for a nice NYE dinner? We are staying near Notting Hill but it doesn't necessarily need to be in the neighborhood. Thanks in advance.

What time would you like to have dinner?

Countless restaurant options in the Notting Hill neighborhood!

Budget?

We spent New Years Eve in London at The Ivy which offers at least three locations in London. It was a very nice experience.
Many, if not most, dinners begin after 10pm on NYE.

Our budget is flexible, but ideally we'd like to keep it to 70-75 pounds per person or so including wine or beer. We're open to any type of food (classic pub, Indian, Italian, Japanese, etc). A restaurant that serves before 10 pm would be preferable. Thanks!

The Pelican Notting Hill is a gastro pub, ie it’s a pub but the food is restaurant quality and you get table service, quality decor etc. Highly regarded. I think your budget will a little tight but you could limit the number of courses and order carefully. London is expensive for eating out unfortunately.

We love The Cow!

It is close to Notting Hill, it’s got amazing food, it is cozy and cute with a traditional pub-with-fireplace space downstairs and a compact dining space upstairs. Great seafood including superb oysters served from a tiny open kitchen/shucking station. Inventive, delicious starters and mains. Some of the most amazing bread and butter we’ve ever had, which I realize is weird to emphasize, but there it is.

You’d have to call and ask about NY Eve. I am pretty sure they’re open and serving dinner, but we have not been for NYE, sooooo… it might be a party atmosphere. This place used to heave with celebs during the David Beckham/Kate Moss era, and maybe on a holiday it still does - but we love it for a quiet yet classy (and delicious) neighborhood vibe

Anyway, just a quality place to eat all around. And unless they have a crazy party spread on, it should sit nicely within your budget.

Happy New Year - hope you have a blast!!!

Thanks for the recommendations! We can up the budget a bit if we need to - just don't want anything exorbitant like a 200-pound prix fixe menu or something like that.

I’d research now to see if the Dragon Inn in Richmond would be serving.

Excellent food, pleasant staff. Small interior so reservations a must.

Easy 10 minute walk from Richmond Station.

Google for reviews.
