Quick trip to Bath & Stonehenge

Hello-We are traveling to London in a few weeks and will have a car as we are touring northern England and Scotland. After our visit to London we will pick up a car at Heathrow Airport at noon on Sunday and we need to be in Cambridge by noon on Tuesday. In that 48 hours we would like to see Stonehenge and the other ruins in the area we would also love to see Bath. What itinerary and/or hotel areas (hotel recommends welcome!) would you experienced travelers suggest and is that altogether to much to fit in?. My DH gets stressed at free wheeling it and I would like to lay out an organized and not to hurried plan for that 48 hours.
Thank you! Michelle

Outside London isn't my specialist subject, sorry.

I'm sure someone will jump on this soon enough.

Well, you'll be pressed for time fitting all of that into 48 hours... Bath is a minimum of 3 hours drive from Cambridge and there's a lot to see and do there. Such as Aquae Sulis, shopping, the abbey etc... You would definitely have to get up early each morning to manage to fit in all that driving.
